What is Miami NICE?
Miami Nice is a collaborative partnership between the City of Miami Office of the Mayor (administrative lead), Miami-Dade County and several nonprofits including: Center on Nonprofit Effectiveness (program lead), Family and Children Faith Coalition, The Children's Trust, and United Way of Miami-Dade.
Miami NICE partners were awarded a three-year federal grant under the Compassion Capital Fund Demonstration Program to help grassroots faith-based and community organizations (FBCOs) in Miami-Dade County maximize their social impact as they provide services to those most in need.  Local matching funds were provided by City of Miami, Miami-Dade County, and The Children's Trust.
What is Compassion Capital Fund (CCF)?
The Compassion Capital Fund (CCF) is a national program created in 2002 as part of the President's faith-based and community initiative.  Administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Family (ACF), CCF’s primary purpose is to help faith-based and community organizations (FBCOs) increase their effectiveness and ability to serve, expand their organizations, diversify funding, and create collaborations.  Goals are achieved though two main initiatives: Demonstration Programs and Targeted Capacity-Building Grants.  Miami NICE is the local initiative that was selected through a national, competetive process in 2007 to receive funding from the CCF Demonstration Program.
